Founded in 1924, CHIO Aachen is not only the oldest and most respected competition in equestrian sports, but also one of the highest standards by which other events are measured. This year, the 10-day elite event kicks off on Friday, June 24. On July 3, the five-star show jumping competition Rolex Grand Prix will be held, when the world's best jockeys will bring their horses together to draw a successful conclusion to the competition. Rolex spokesperson Daniel Deusser will give his all to defend his title.
Adhering to its strong commitment to actively promote the development of equestrian sports for more than six decades, Rolex has continued to support CHIO Aachen since 1999, including five categories of events. Its core event is the Rolex Grand Prix, the second annual competition of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping, which has been won by numerous famous jockeys, including Rolex spokesperson Rodrigo Pessoa, Jeroen Dubbeldam, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, Eric Lamaze and Scooter Scott Brash.
The international event Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping was founded in 2013 and consists of four equestrian competitions, including The Dutch Masters, CHIO Aachen, CSIO Spruce Meadows 'Masters' and CHI Geneva. The Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping is known as the ultimate challenge of the equestrian show jumping competition. It is recognized as the most coveted award in sports. Only a jockey who has won three of these Grand Prix races in a row can receive the Rolex Grand Slam accolade. This year Düsser is a contender for the coveted honour after winning the Dutch Masters in March.
